VFX Supervisor / Lighting & Compositing Artist
Hi, My name is Ben, I am currently the VFX Supervisor / Lighting & Compositing Artist for Sunrise Productions ,a Broadcasting and Media Production studio, situated in Cape Town, South Africa. I am responsible for the Supervision of visual effects on the project that I am assigned to. I am a key consultant of the project’s Director and Art Director and responsible for the technical and artistic quality of the shots. I must therefore understand and interpret the Director’s intentions and also be conscious of the project’s budget constraints set by the Production team.
I work in collaboration with the Post-Production Manager on tasks such as time management, planning and artist relations. It's my job to prepare the visual effects production breakdown, anticipate problems and present solutions adapted to time and budget constraints and manage teams for Production. I Support the coordination team in order to maintain the pipeline’s efficiency and allow the artists and TD's to achieve their production objectives and deadlines.
Thereafter I slot into the Lighting and Compositing team and help create the final image of my assigned shots working with the Leads of each department. I enjoy using a variety of software and I am always open to new software as well. I tend to better myself with regards to Lighting and Compositing.
